Why We Created Funatics Fitness:
Funatics was built because we love fitness, but knowing its more than just fitness it’s about HELPING others. The company was created with the philosophy that Fun integrated with fitness will get the best results, whatever your personal results may be.

Boredom and no results is the main reason people stop working out! And that boredom is caused by lame exercises and routines that get old and stale with little to no results. We created fun and interactive classes for all ages. We focus on each individual’s personal aspirations such as how you feel about yourself. We believe in finding out what type of results YOU are looking for and build programs around you with high accountability. This could be as simple as just wanting to feel stronger, need confidence booster, drop one pant size, need accountability, sports improvement and having more interactive energy. We really wanted to help others to feel like we do and that’s happy and healthy, but through innovated fitness while having FUN. We want to Empower YOU!

Carrie Gill –
Personal, Small Group and Youth Fitness Trainer:
Owner Funatics Fitness

I am happily married with 2 beautiful children; I worked a full time job as a Sales and Marketing Manager for the local daily newspaper for over 12 years. In my career every day I had to motivate my staff, but it wasn’t the motivation that I had passion for. I decided it was time to make a change in my life.

I am an average person just like you who puts their pants on one leg at a time…but my story has a lot of twists and turns. I am recovering bulimic who has eating disorder for ALL of my life. I would work out for hours, played sports, but I believed food was evil and I would binge. I did this for so many years I was always underweight and sick…till I had my first child, then I went in a different direction. I went to eating everything, and became very uncomfortable with who I became!!!

Wait the story has more curve balls…Throughout my years I was in not one BUT yes TWO massive car accidents, which caused me to have a life altering physical nerve disease and had so many surgeries…I lost count. I still tried to work out the best I could, but depressions set in and binging became my only option. I was fortunate to have a loving husband who would tell me…I love you just the way you are. But the problem was, I didn’t love myself the way I was. Skinny OR Over weight, it didn’t matter.

In my journey I have learned there are so many people out there like me. Overeat or afraid to eat…so we starve ourselves, workout for hours with no results and more depression sets in. Results of doing this are always BAD… tired, can’t focus, up and down in weight, mood swings…the list goes on. However, what I didn’t know was how to eat healthy and work out in moderation. The results that I was achieving were short term and not sustainable and didn’t have much self-esteem. Does this story sound familiar to you?

I am here to help share how I have overcome my own personal challenges to make a difference in your life. I have lived on both sides …starving myself and working out endlessly then; I would binge and continue to work out with no results. I would walk past the mirror without looking. I was lacking self-esteem and felt I was living in the background. After having two children I was fatigued, working full time and had no energy. My turning point was when my family was going thru a hard time and I could no longer focus on my vanity and I needed to be more stable and not on a roller coaster ride. I developed programs that enabled me to involve my children with healthy eating and fun fitness and I started to see results not just with myself, but with my family. I started to spread my motivation and the programs I created to people who shared the same feelings. The results were astonishing!

Writing about myself and sharing it with others is not easy…I am a very private person. But I feel it’s important to share so I can help others. I am NOT proud of what I did…but so PROUD how I overcame it and where I am TODAY!!!

I want my success to be your success. This is why I created Funatics fitness

My 12 years of military experience inspired me to become a certified personal trainer. For over 15 years I have worked as a Personal trainer, Fitness instructor, and Fitness Director. Several years ago, I was in a severe car accident and while in the Air Force I fell from a F-16 Fighter Jet, in which I suffered multiple injuries. It forever changed my life. During my physical therapy and recovery, God gave me the strength to move forward to inspire those who have had great challenges the ability to relate my unique life experiences with my clients.  I’ve been training individuals at every fitness level including seniors and paraplegics. I am very blessed and have a great passion for life and helping others reach their goals.

I acquired my first certifications in the principles of YMCA health and nutrition in fitness and strength training at the Bergen County YMCA in New Jersey. I assisted and developed a senior citizens class called S.M.I.L.E, Seniors Moving in Light Exercise. From YMCA to Dr. Cooper’s Fitness Institute, I continue to keep abreast of the most various functional training styles of fitness.

My style of training combines the benefits of dynamic training, balance and rehabilitation exercises, producing both increased muscle strength and improvements in body mechanics.
